About RehabAI

The story behind RehabAI

  1. 2023

In 2023, a stroke changed my grandpa's life, and it changed mine too.

When he came home to continue rehabilitation, I saw how hard recovery could be outside the hospital. I wanted to help. I also realized that our family wasn't alone: many families face the same challenges every day.

    That's where RehabAI began.

  2. 2024

In late 2024, as a middle school student, I started building RehabAI with MIT App Inventor. I had a lot to learn, but I was excited to turn my idea into something real that could actually help people.

  3. 2024–2025

That first prototype took me farther than I ever imagined. RehabAI won the 2024 Congressional App Challenge for Texas's 24th District, and I was invited to Washington, D.C., to demonstrate it for Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne in her office. Later that year, it won first place in the 2025 MIT Global AI Hackathon, and I presented it on MIT's campus. These experiences gave me the confidence to keep going.

  4. 2026

In early 2026, I was selected for the MIT RAISE Youth Incubator Program (YIP). With support from YIP and Braze, I kept improving RehabAI through many rounds of revision and testing. Today, the app is available on Google Play, and an App Store release is on the way. It means so much to me that something inspired by my grandpa's recovery can now help other families.

  5. Looking ahead

Rehabilitation is a journey, and building RehabAI has been a journey for me too. I'm deeply grateful to everyone who has encouraged and supported me along the way. I'm still learning, but my goal hasn't changed: to help people like my grandpa feel supported every step of the way.

Built entirely in

RehabAI was developed entirely inside the MIT App Inventor platform using only block code.
